Video: Learning trust and strength with the Waikiki Acrobatic Troupe

In the early 1970s, Dick Criley helped form what is now known as the Waikiki Acrobatic Troupe. As he explains, acrobatics (competitive or exhibition) can involve various disciplines, such as:

  • gymnastics
  • juggling
  • aerial silk
  • pole dancing

During our visit, being808 learned acrobatics isn’t just a lot of fun.

All that twisting, turning, jumping and balancing has health benefits, including improved kinesthetic awareness, flexibility, and arm, wrist, ankle and leg strength. Acrobats also learn how to trust their partner — an invaluable skill in both sport and life.
