Healthy Eats: Serve up these guilt-free sweet potato chips at your game day party
Friends don’t serve friends packaged potato chips at a Super Bowl party. Instead, opt for these delicious, homemade sweet potato chips, lightly bathed in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt before going into the oven.
For an even healthier chip, forgo the salt and oil bath and just bake the slices with no-salt seasoning on an lightly-oiled pan. You can also season with black pepper, dill weed, vinegar, or garlic — whatever your taste buds desire.
Serve these at your party and your guests will be asking for more.
Ingredients (makes about 32 chips):
• 1 sweet potato
• 1-2 TBSP of oil (you can use olive oil, grapeseed or coconut)
• sea salt
• seasoning (optional)
2) Use a knife, mandolin or spiralizer to slice your sweet potato to 1/8-inch thickness.
3) Place the slices in a bowl and add oil, salt, and any seasonings. Coat the chips evenly.
4) Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Then flip and bake for another 10 minutes. If your slices are thicker, they’ll neat a little extra time in the heat.
